First Hedge Fund IPO Is Unlikely To Start A Trend

Markos Kaminis (Wall St. Greek) submits: Friday was a historic day. It marked the first time a hedge fund went public. Fortress Investment Group (FIG) launched its IPO as its investment bankers priced shares at $18.50. The shares opened upward of 80% more than the IPO price, as the deal was well-oversubscribed and highly publicized.
